AAAOM Offers Master of Acupuncture Program
I am pleased to announce that AAAOM students now have the option to
graduate with a Master of Acupuncture degree (MAc). This streamlined
program is designed to be completed in just three years, preparing graduates
to take and pass the national board exam, as well as meeting all requirements
for acupuncture licensure in the state of Minnesota.
There has been a demand for a degree program which enables students to
receive the benefits of AAAOM’s authentic TCM training and first-class
faculty, while allowing them to enter the work force in the shortest time
possible. The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine has just issued its approval for our 3-year MAc program.
The primary difference between the new 3-year MAc program and the
current 4-year Master of Oriental Medicine (MOM) program is that Chinese
herbal medicine courses are required for the MOM degree, but are electives
in the MAc program.
The MAc curriculum and other details about the program will be made
available in the near future. MAc-specific courses are under consideration
for the upcoming Summer trimester.
Chinese medicine is a life-long study. It is hoped that the new TCM
programs AAAOM is offering will encourage students to develop their
knowledge and skills in the direction that suits them best.
