American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) hosts our next two Open Houses on back to back Sundays, November 14th and 21st, 2010, each from 2-5p.m. As the only independent fully-accredited acupuncture school in Minnesota, we pride ourselves on the quality and depth of our Master's degree program, and we invite anyone who is interested in acupuncture and Oriental medicine to spend the afternoon with us. Attendees will be given a tour of the school, get to see an acupuncture treatment first-hand, and then receive an informational presentation by AAAOM's president and faculty members, outlining the acupuncture program at our school and the exciting opportunities available in the field of Oriental medicine today. After the formal presentation, there will be an informal get-together with AAAOM faculty and staff members. Tea and refreshments will be served. INTERN CLINICS - HALF-PRICE COUPONS  The Intern Clinics at our Roseville and Uptown locations are an inexpensive way to invest in your health. Supervised by our faculty, you will receive high quality treatment from 3rd- and 4th-year interns. In return, you will be assisting interns in gaining valuable first-hand clinical experience. Treatments may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tuina massage, dietary recommendations, and even Qi Gong. Faculty members carefully advise and review all patient diagnoses, prescriptions, and follow-up visits to ensure the most effective treatments.
Treatments from interns are generally $32 per session, but coupons are available here to print out and bring along with you for a $16 introductory treatment: 2010 GRADUATION AAAOM is proud to graduate its eighth class. Nineteen students took part in AAAOM's traditional graduation ceremony and received their well-earned diplomas in the Year of the Tiger. Graduates for 2010 (pictured below): Kent Bergstrom, Tasha Boehland, Meggie Chan, Huang Chen, Sara Erdman, Amber Lee Goettig, Peng Her, Jesse Katzman, Marnie Leen, Hung Lieu, Thomas McCarty, Dan McGough, Joette Nuyen, Cadance Paulaha, Leslie Prarie, Matt Priebe, Lynn Putnam, Jesse Rolfes, and Alan Schroepfer. 
Click here or on the image to see a larger picture of AAAOM Graduation 2010. 2009 CHINA TRIP  AAAOM conducted its third trip to China from April 9th to April 23rd, under the guidance of AAAOM Academic Dean Dr. Yubin Lu. One of the first stops on the trip was AAAOM's sister school, Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its affiliated TCM hospitals. AAAOM students and some acupuncture practitioners in the group were able to "test drive" a newly-developed pulse diagnosis machine. Also on the itinerary were Xi'an, Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Jinan, Qufu, Taishan and Qingdao. Group members experienced many never-to-be-forgotten moments as they stood beside the terra-cotta soldiers of Xi'an, enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Guilin, saw the Water Cube and Bird's Nest featured at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and climbed the Great Wall.
