The American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) and its following programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM):
1) Master of Acupuncture
2) Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization [currently named Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine]
3) Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
At its August 2020 meeting, ACAOM placed the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine on Probation for failing to meet one or more of ACAOM’s Criteria for Accreditation as evidenced by a revocation order (http://www.ohe.state.mn.us/mPg.cfm?pageID=2424) issued by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education to AAAOM and its programs. Probation is a sanction used by ACAOM to alert an institution that if it does not substantially correct deficiencies by the end of the probationary period accreditation status could be in jeopardy consistent with ACAOM’s Commission Actions Policy.
Accreditation status and notes may be viewed on the ACAOM Directory.
