Is the whole country on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Things may not be that bad, but it does seem that the population with shen/mind disturbances is escalating.
If you are seeing more patients with acute or chronic mental health issues, and if you desire a more comprehensive diagnostic approach than “liver qi stagnation” or
“heart fire,” you will benefit from attending Dr. Hashemipour’s seminar presentation on TCM psychiatry.
Acupuncture and other Chinese medicine modalities have provided in-depth mental and emotional therapy for centuries, and are well-positioned to fill the gap left by modern western medicine in this expanding field.
The American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) is pleased to offer the acupuncture community this unique opportunity to explore ancient and modern approaches to mental health care. Dr. Hashemipour will lecture and demonstrate his advanced knowledge and techniques of Chinese medicine psychiatry to DAOM students and acupuncture practitioners.
Dr. Mohammad Hashemipour has had doctorate-level training in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, giving him exceptional perspective on the applications of integrative medicine. After earning a Western medical doctorate, Dr. Hashemipour completed a clinical Ph.D. degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine at Beijing University of Chinese medicine, where he researched and taught integrative medicine for more than seven years. In the U.S., he became academic dean at New York College of Health Professions, and passed the United States medical licensing exam. Dr. Hashemipour has a special interest in mind-body disorders and psychiatric problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, insomnia, and other emotional disorders.
